I wrote a thing I’ve been meaning to finish since around February. Characters within this aren’t mine, they are Joana’s swag character, Baldric, I did a thing for. One day I’ll finish the other piece that is supposed to go with this.

Alessa insisted on distributing the food and that everyone take their boots off before sitting on the blanket. The frayed ends were stained already but the patches of white and red were bright. Eredhon wondered if she had it repaired at some point. He’d heard of some humans doing so with older pieces of furniture or clothing but hadn’t seen it for himself. It smelt like stale perfume and oil and felt thin under his fingers.
Avery sat next to the basket and smiled at him when he looked. She held the cake in her lap, poking the decoration when Alessa pulled something out. She stared at Farlaus sometimes and pretended to run a finger down the side.
"Are you sure that’s good for your gloves?" Eredhon asked.
"Totally. Cake makes my fists sweeter," Avery smiled and Farlaus snorted, crossing his arms. He tapped his claws against his side, eyes narrowed. Eredhon wanted to scratch his back or neck, roll grass around his thumb. Whistling would be too much, he thought.
"You should eat something to make your head less thick," he said. His voice was low and clipped, maybe his teeth clicked when he talked. Eredhon never watched him talk much, not his mouth. His nose twitched when he talked and he rubbed his muzzle, claws into his beard. He looked lumpy—one arm across his chest and one at his face.
Avery snorted, pulling the corner of her mouth down and stuck her tongue out. “You should eat something to make you less grumpy.” Farlaus rolled his eyes and huffed. “He’s just mad because I got the cake,” Avery whispered to Eredhon. She showed her teeth when she smiled and wrinkled her nose.
"Cut it out," Alessa piped up and handed him a small napkin wrapped cookie. The chocolate was thick and the cookie itself was mushy. Probably taken out too soon. She brushed her hair back when she went through the basket and tossed a sandwich to Farlaus.
"Did you make this?" he frowned.
"We helped," Eredhon added.
Farlaus made a low sound in the back of his throat and pressed the sandwich between his paws. “You shouldn’t have.”
"Didn’t see you making anything," Alessa mumbled.
"He would have eaten it all," Avery snickered.
"You almost did that though," Eredhon pointed out, eating the cookie. Avery shrugged and drew a heart in the side of the cake, flicking the frosting at Alessa when she looked away. He pretended not to notice and drew a flower on the top somewhere between Alessa telling Farlaus she didn’t put raw meat in his food again and Avery trying to pull the hood on Alessa’s hoodie over her head. He ended up getting that piece in the end.
Sometimes I stand behind my firends’ characters and admire how pretty they all are.

Did I do the thing right
“Risen Commander” plot twist: your character was a risen all along and the whole story was only a fractal being played in other reality
Or someone was playing with the Infinity Orb and opened a portal into another reality which Dessa actually entered bringing in the secrets of that reality into this one so that now the time streams are forever mixed and no one can tell what is what.
